rising moon, setting sun

Being winter here we're having shorter days and this week we're also having cold nights & mornings.
This afternoon we enjoyed one of those sunsets where the moon has risen and the sun is still setting. I like the hues of the skyline that occurs when this overlap happens. I also like the contrast between the bright moon and the lighter sky. It was a good opportunity to practice taking shots at dusk and become more familiar with the various camera settings, shutter speeds and the focusing points in dim lighting.
 an inspiring afternoon

pumpkin soup a winter warmer

We usually have a couple of pumpkin vines rambling about the yard in the warmer months
So we can enjoy homemade pumpkin soup in the cooler months
usually accompanied with fresh bread from the local bakery
yum!
