brekkie + book

Spotted & purchased this delightful book this morning while at Riverbend Books & Teahouse having brekkie and coffee with the Broadstroke girls. The book is called 'Baking Day' and is a collection of retro baking recipes and vintage craft put together by the Women's Weekly and published by ACP Books
The recipes and the craft projects appealed but what I really loved is the presentation.
The illustrations, photography and layout is delightful and very inspiring.

jam & books

In between working on my pieces for the upcoming Undercurrents exhibition I've been enjoying a few books. I also went along to an authors talk so my copy of Caleb's Crossing is now signed by the author Geraldine Brooks, enjoyed the talk very much as well. Our mandarin tree has lots of fruit on it this year so made up some marmalade. Then got carried away and picked up some fruit from the markets and also made up some Strawberry Jam, Grape/Plum & Liqueur Jam and some Mushroom Relish. I've also been printing up some flora images onto fabric and now mono-printing over the top in readiness for another collage piece, I'll take some photos of the work in progress.
